vacation with an artist

When we were traveling back in 2014, we came to a crossroads: shall we continue to trek to far-off places to just check them off our bucket list, or should we choose places for their creative opportunities? We were hungry to find places like Bali to feed our creativity -- could it be Japan to learn traditional shibori or India to do our own wood block printing?

No resource existed to answer our question last year. But it does now, and was developed by our friend and former colleague at R/GA, Geetika Agrawal. Geetika is an accomplished interaction design director who is on leave for a year traveling, speaking at creative leader conferences across the world and developing creative projects to bring people together. The first was Food For Thought, a program that uses food to connect creative travelers. And now it's Vacation With An Artist.

Vacation With An Artist helps people discover and book a studio session with artists who are masters of their craft and creative ambassadors of the city in which they live. From photography in mountainous Slovenia, Anatolian dance in Istanbul or rattan weaving on the island of Penang….Geetika has curated a collection of creative experiences to satisfy any artist looking for inspiration. Hop on over to VAWAA and take a stroll through the artist profiles. We hope you find it as inspiring as we have.
